Early payment discounts and invoice discounts, worked out for you

Enter a percentage and a number of days — Spoonbill works out the amount by the deadline and prints it on the invoice. Discounts on one line or the whole invoice come with it.

  • On every plan
  • Amount and date worked out
  • In the e-invoice too

An early payment discount in three fields

01 · Enter

Percent and days

Under “Add early-payment discount” you enter 2 % and 14 days. That is all.

02 · Worked out

The date and the amount are there

The invoice says by when and how much — your client has nothing to calculate.

03 · Paid

The same everywhere

The same discount is on the PDF, on your client’s page and in the e-invoice.

A discount on one line or on everything

A discount lowers the net amount before tax is worked out — as it should.

A discount on one line

The line shows the price after the discount, and the total under it adds up.

A discount on the whole invoice

In percent or as an amount, shown once in the totals.

What discounts do

A deadline, worked out

The date and the amount, worked out before the invoice is due.

Checked

Spoonbill does not allow an early payment discount that ends after the due date.

In the e-invoice

The discount is in the file too, not only on the PDF.

Per line

In percent, right on the line.

On everything

In percent or as an amount, across the whole invoice.

On quotes too

Discounts work on quotes just as on invoices.

Questions

Does an early payment discount cost extra?

No. Early payment discounts and discounts are on every plan.

Is the tax on a discount worked out correctly?

Yes. A discount lowers the net amount, and tax is worked out after it. The total on the invoice matches its lines.

How long can the discount last?

Until the due date. Spoonbill tells you how many days at most.

Does my client see the discounted amount?

Yes, with the date and the amount, on the PDF and on their page.

Paid sooner, no maths.

Enter the percentage and the days — Spoonbill works out the rest.
