An invoice in dollars, in three steps
The currency belongs to the client
Give Brightline the default currency USD — every new invoice to them starts in dollars.
Prices in the invoice's currency
Lines, tax and total are in dollars, just as your client pays them.
Paid in dollars, booked in yours
Your client pays the amount shown. On issue, Spoonbill locks that day’s ECB rate and stores the total in your currency too.
Their currency for the client, yours for you
Your client pays what the invoice says. Your books see your currency.
What your client sees
The whole invoice in dollars, pounds or francs — no converting on their side.
What you see
Every invoice, each in its own currency, filterable by currency.
What multiple currencies do
Every common currency
USD, GBP, CHF, PLN and more, by ISO code.
The issue day’s rate
The ECB rate is locked when the invoice is issued.
Stored in your currency
The total is kept in your account currency too — even when that is not the euro.
Per client
The default currency sits on the client.
Per item
An item can carry its price in a currency of its own.
Recurring too
A schedule bills in its client’s currency.
Questions
Does it cost extra?
No. Invoices in other currencies are on every plan.
Which rate is used?
The European Central Bank’s reference rate of the day you issue the invoice. It is locked and does not change afterwards.
My account currency is not the euro. Does it still work?
Yes. Spoonbill stores the total in your own account currency, whether euro, franc or złoty.
Can an item have a price in another currency?
Yes. Leave the currency on the item empty and your account currency applies.
The next invoice, in any currency.
Set the currency on the client — the rest follows.
