Send a quote, then turn it into the invoice in one click

Send a numbered quote, let the client accept or decline it from a link, then turn it into the invoice in one click.

  • On every plan
  • Quotes numbered on their own
  • Accepted without an account

From quote to invoice, in three steps

01 · Write

A quote with its own number

Client, lines, a date under “Valid until”. Spoonbill works out tax and total as it does for an invoice.

02 · Get a yes

Your client says yes from a link

They open the quote in the browser, with no account, and accept or decline it. You hear straight away.

03 · Convert

One click, and the invoice is there

“Create invoice” copies the client and the lines into an invoice draft. You send it when the work is delivered.

When the answer is no

A declined quote is not the end: you learn why and send a better version.

You read the reason

Whoever declines can add a reason. It sits on the quote, not in an inbox.

You revise instead of starting over

“Revise quote” copies the lines into a new draft. The old version can no longer be accepted.

Questions

Does writing quotes cost anything?

No. Quotes are on every plan. On Free, sent quotes and invoices count together, up to five a month.

Does my client need an account to accept?

No. They open the quote from the link in the email and click “Accept the quote” or “Decline”. You are told.

Does an accepted quote become an invoice on its own?

No, on purpose: you invoice when the work is delivered. Then “Create invoice” turns it into a draft with the same lines.

What happens after the “Valid until” date?

Your client can no longer accept the quote. You can revise it and send a new version.
